EDITOR'S SPECIAL NOTICE: This week's bulletin
was sent out earlier than normal to accommodate the late CQWW DX
SSB Contest announcements. Also, it will provide the readers with
a consolidated listing of the CQWW DX SSB Contest participants.

3XY, GUINEA. Operator Leo, UT1WL, will be
active as 3XY1L during the CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest (October
25-26th) using low power. QSL via UY5XE.
8P6, BARBADOS. Dean, 8P6SH, will be active in
the CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest (October 25-26th). Look for him
to sign 8P6SH as a Single-Op/Single Band (40m) entry and 8P2K as
a Single-Op/Single Band (15m) entry. QSL both callsigns via KU9C.
C4, CYPRUS. Marios, 5B4WN, will be active as
C4W during the CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest (October 25-26th) as
a Single-Op/All Band/High Power entry. He will attempt to use the
"Logbook of the World" (LoTW) after the contest.
D70, SOUTH KOREA. Operators DS3GLW, DS4NYE,
HL3VQ, HL3AHQ, HL3AMO and HL3SEO will be active as D70LW in the
CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest (October 25-26th) as a Multi-???
entry. QSL via HL3VQ.
DXCC NEWS. Wolfgang, OE1WEU, informs OPDX and
readers that YI9OM QSLs are being rejected. Reason indicted: No
Documentation Received.
EA8, CANARY ISLANDS. Well known DXer Martti
Laine, OH2BH, will be active as EA8BH in the CQ World Wide DX SSB
Contest (October 25-26th) as a Single-Op/Single Band (80m) entry.
QSL via OH2BH.
EX, KYRGYZSTAN. Andy, UA3DPX, will be active
as EX9A during the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November 29-30th)
as a Single-Op/All Band/High Power entry. All QSOs in the log
will be QSLed via the Bureau.
HC8, GALAPAGOS ISLANDS (Update). As mentioned
in OPDX.631, Trey/N5KO and other operators (team not finalized)
will be active as HC8N during the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest
(November 29-30th) as a Multi-Multi entry. QSL via W5UE. Trey
informs OPDX that he will arrive on the island on Sunday
afternoon, November 23rd local time, and depart on the Monday
morning after the CQWW CW Contest. Activity before the contest
will be on 6/10/12/15/17/20/30/40/80/160 meters, mostly on SSB
and CW.
IOTA NEWS...
AS-049. Operators JA6PSE and JA6PSI will
be active for about one week beginning of March 2004 from
Tokara Arc in the Takara Islands (JIIA-049-012,
WLH-0884). He will be on 160-10 meters CW and SSB. He
might try some RTTY and PSK31. They will use the
callsigns JA6PSE (for SSB and RTTY) and JA6PSI (CW only).
QSL via home calls.
EU-156. Bruno, F5JYD, will be active as
F5JYD/P from some of the Normandie Islands (for the
DIFM), October 27-30th. Look for operations from Le Mont
St. Michel (MA 005), Rimains Island (MA 006) and Landes
Island (MA 034). Activity will be QRP with solar power
energy. QSL via his home callsign.
NA-072. Mike/DL2OE and Will/DJ7AA will
be active as HP1/homecall from Contadora Island now
through October 29th. Activity will be on 160-6 meters
(with special interest on the low bands) CW/SSB/RTTY. QSL
HP1/DL2OE via DL7CM and HP1/DJ7AA via his homecall.
NCDXA 2004 OFFICERS. At the October meeting,
the members of the National Capitol DX Association elected the
following officers to serve in 2004:

QSL INFO AND NEWS...
Elmo, EA5BYP, reports that the logs for
the 3C0V operation (modes PSK31, RTTY and CW) are now
available at: http://www.tabarca.es.mn. SSB
contacts will be available in a few days. They continue
processing data.
Fran, EA7FTR, informs OPDX that he is
now the NEW QSL Manager for Billy, 6W1RD. QSL via EA7FTR.
Zik, DL/VE3ZIK (4N1DX), informs OPDX
that the latest QSL info from the CQWW DX SSB Contest
will be published next Wednesday or Thursday at: http://www.contesting.info.
RW2, KALININGRAD. Members of the UA2 Contest
Club will be active as RW2F in the CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest
(October 25-26th) as a Multi-2 entry. QSL via DK4VW.
SU9, EGYPT. Tom, N9NC, will be active as
SU9NC in the CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest (October 25-26th) as a
Single-Op/All Band/Low Power entry. QSL via OM2SA.
T30, WESTERN KIRIBATI. Vladimir, UA4WHX, is
again active from the Pacific. After being active from Fiji and
Rotuma (3D2VB and 3D2VB/R), he is now active from Western
Kiribati with the callsign T30VB. Activity will be on 40-10
meters CW/SSB. Over the last few days he has been very active on
40 meters. There has also been QSNs reported on 30 and 20 meters.
The length of his stay is not known. QSL via UA4WHX.
TF3, ICELAND. Members of the IRA club will be
active as TF3W during the CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest (October
25-26th) as a Multi-Single entry. QSL via TF3GB.
V73, MARSHALL ISLANDS. Brian, K9QQ, will be
active as V73AZ during the CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest (October
25-26th) as a Single-Op/All Band/High Power entry. QSL via K9JS.
V73 MARSHALL ISLANDS. Neil, V73NS, is still
active from Kwajalein Atoll (OC-028). Most of his operating time
is between 1700-1840z and from 0300-0500z. You will find him
working only CW on all bands except 20 meters and 160 meters. He
has spent most of his previous operating time on 20 meters but is
now trying to spread the QSOs out more across the other bands. He
plans on being active on 160 meters in late November and is also
getting more active on 6 meters from grid RJ-39. QSL is direct
(S.A.S.E. only): Neil Schwanitz, BOX 8341 APO, AP 96557 (USA).
VP9, BERMUDA (Update). Bill/N1HRA, Matt/WE1H,
Foster/N3KCJ and Joe/K1JN will be active from October 23-28th and
will take part in the CQWW DX SSB Contest as VP9I. Outside of the
contest, they will be active on 160-6 meters as homecall/VP9. QSL
to homecall outside of the contest and to K1JN for VP9I QSOs.
Please do not use the VP9 bureau.
XQ6, CHILE. George, W8UVZ, informs OPDX that
Bob, XQ6ET, has been mostly inactive for several weeks now with
rig problems. A replacement radio is on its way to Chile but not
expected to arrive for at least 4 weeks. A reminder that QSLs for
XQ6ET are done only DIRECT to W8UVZ. Bureau cards are being
received but cannot be processed.
CQ WORLD WIDE DX SSB CONTEST. The following

the same phone line as BARF-80 BBS using a data/fax/phone switch.
To access: 1) Dial Number. 2) Wait for first ring (the second
ring should be a false ring from the fax/data switch box) and
then dial four quick ones ("1111"). (NOTE: Some FAX
machines that send single "BEEPS" every second will not
have to do this step.) 3) The phone will pick up and after the
"BEEP" leave your voice message or FAX.
