DXCC NEWS...
Bill Moore, NC1L, DXCC Manager, reports:
"T5AR (Somalia) has been approved for DXCC credit.
It was on the bad list for lack of documentation. The
documentation has been reviewed and it is OK. People can
now receive DXCC credit. Anyone who has submitted it and
had it rejected can contact us and we'll be able to
update their record without having to submit the card
again. If not, it can be sent in the next
submission."
Bill Moore, NC1L, DXCC Manager, also
reports: "The operations shown below have been
approved for DXCC credit. They were on the bad list for

DX NET. Chris, VK2UW, would like to offer all
DX Stations the opportunity to use the Pacific DX Net on 14240
khz from 1100z until 1300z, to build up their contacts and also
help others make contact with the DX.
FY, FRENCH GUIANA. Look for F1HAR, F5HRY,
F5MZN, F5OIH, F6HLC, FY5FU, and FY5FY to be active as FY5KE for
the next CQWW SSB as a Multi/Single entry.
IOTA NEWS... (IOTA Contest July 28-29th)
AS-120. Team members of the Nicosia
Contest Group and friends (Loris/5B4FN, George/5B4KH,
Marios/5B4WN, Paris/5B4XF and George/5B4AGC), will
activate the Cyprus Coastal Islands during the IOTA
contest. Operation will take place from Agios Georgios
(aka Kakoskaliou) island off the north-western tip of
Cyprus. The team hopes to have a running and a multiplier
station active at the same time using mostly vertical
antennas and a 400W linear on the running station. QSL
Manager for this expedition will be George, 5B4KH.
Callsign will be announced later on, but will most
probably begin with the C4 prefix.
AS-135. Members of JSDXC (Jin/BA4TA,
Michael/BD5RV and Win/BD4RS) will be signing BI4U from
Qingshan Island during the IOTA contest. QSL via BA4RD.
EU-038. The UBA/NOK members will travel
to Texel Island to take part in this year's IOTA Contest
with the call PA6TEX. They will also activate Texel
Island Lighthouse NET 024 (ARLHS) during their stay. Look
for them before and during the contest. QSLs go via
ON4ALW or UBA Buro, please DO NOT send QSLs via the Dutch
QSL bureau.
EU-091. Look for IK7FPX/P as a Multi-Op
operation during the IOTA Contest from Grande Island
(I.I.A. LE-002). QSL via H.C., bureau or direct
(qrz.com). There will be other operators signing
homecall/P, and they will be active on 50 Mhz (loc.
JN80WG) and on the WARC bands.
EU-092. Jim Martin, MM0BQI, will be
active from the Island of Tanera Mor in the Summer Isles
from July 27th through August 3rd. The various reference
numbers are: Islands of Scotland Award SC10, WAB NB90 and
QRA IO78. Activity will be on all bands 80-6m SSB, CW,
RTTY and PSK31 and a mixed mode entry in the IOTA
contest. Jim states, "Hopefully this year conditions
will be better and I am looking forward to working lots
of stations who require the Summer Isles for IOTA or
IOSA. I will be using special callsign GB5SI (Summer

EU-095. Dominique, F5RYC, will be active
as F5RYC/P from Pomegues Island for the IOTA contest. QSL

EU-113. The team of IK6CAC/Carlo (CW
op.), IK0QDB/Luca, IZ7ATN/Simon and IZ0CKJ/Alessio (QSL
manager) will be active from Kithira Island in order to

CECCANO (FR) - ITALY.
EU-057 EU-129. The contest team DL0KWH had to
change plans. They will now be active from Usedom Island
in the IOTA Contest. They will use a 3 elemment Yagi for
10/15/20 meters and a TITANEX V8030 for 80/40 meters.
Activity/entry will be for 24 hours - Multi Op CW/SSB.
They will be active outside of contest under individual
callsigns DL2RTK, DL2SWW, DL2VFR, DH7NO and DH1LA. After
the contest on Monday, July 30th, they will visit the
following rare islands Greifswalder Oie (EU-057 - GIA Nr.
O-12) and Ruden (EU-057 - GIA Nr. O-11). On Greifswalder
Oie, they will activate a lighthouse, and it counts for
the WLH LH-0114 and for the German Lighthouse Award as
well ( Nr. 23 ).
EU-150. An international group of hams
will take part at the IOTA Contest from Insua Island. The
callsign will be CQ2I and the following operators will be
on the following modes: SSB OP: EA2TV, EA4ATI, EA4ST,
CT1EEB CW OP: EA1CA, EA4AHD, CT1CJJ QSL CARDS via EA4URJ

EU-153. Vlad/RZ1OA, Dima/UA1OLM,
Oleg/RU1OG are be active as RZ1OA/A, UA1OLM/A and RU1OG/A
from Lyasomin Island now through August 2nd. This
DXpedition is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the

EU-171. Ove, OZ4PAX, will be active from
Vendsyssel Island. The city name is Hirtshals. QSL is ok

EU-181. Nick, LZ1NG, reports he will try
to be active from Sveta Anastasya Island between August
11-18th. Activity will be on 80-6 meters SSB/CW. QSL card
will be answered by the same way that they are received.

EU-185. The team of UA6A and RA3AUM/6
plans to take part in IOTA contest from Dzendzik Island
(RR2404). After the contest, they will be operating from
islands: Krupenina (EU-185,RR2403), Golen'kij (EU-185,
RR-possible new-one), Lisij (no IOTA, RR-possible
new-one). They will be on each island for one day.
Callsign RI6AAA will be used during the contest. After
the contest they MAY sign homecall/p. QSL for RI6AAA via

NA-112. Philip/K4EP and Craig/KF4NLM,
will activate Bogue Banks for the IOTA contest. They will
operate from Jeff's, KF4WHY, QTH using the callsign
W4LVS/P.
NA-076. During the IOTA Contest, KF9YL
will be active (Single Op/24hr/SSB/100w/DXpedition) from

OC-245. John, YB5NOF, will be active
from Rupat Island to participate in the IOTA Contest, SSB

KH4, MIDWAY ISLAND. Tom, DL2RUM, informs OPDX
to look for Rudi, KH4/DL7VFR, and Tom, KH4/DL2RUM, to be active

NH4, MIDWAY ISLAND. Ted, NH6YK, informs OPDX
that he will sign NH4/NH6YK from Midway. He will be there for a
short 3 day visit - he will be on the radio as time permits
between 0700z August 2nd and 0400z August 5th. He will be working
one of those days and "doing some pre-work-work on the
other". As this is a short trip, SSB only, HF and 6m (10W,
5el yagi). QSL direct or Bureau to NH6YK. Ted states the
following: "I hope to catch South Dakota :-) more of Africa,
Europe, and Antarctica :-) and everyone else if the propagation
is willing. Please be patient, Please listen carefully, please
avoid calling when I'm asking for someone else. I can go 2-3+ per
minute if you cooperate, though I enjoy talking to former island
residents. BTW: I apologize for the delay in getting past cards
out. Most QSOs are now on a computer logbook, and labels are
underway. I hope to get my backlog done in the next month or
so."
LIGHTHOUSE ACTIVITY...
Look for W4P to be active from Ponce
Inlet Lighthouse next weekend, August 4-5th. QSL route
will be as announced by operators. Ponce Inlet is located
in the vicinity of Daytona Beach, FL.
Look for ZX7ZZ to be active on 80-10
meters, CW/SSB/PSK31/RTTY, from the Galinhos Lighthouse
(DFB RN 09) in Galinhos City, RN, Brasil. The team of
operators will include PS7JS, PS7KC, PS7PIO, PS7ZZ and

PJ, SABA ISLAND. Kevin, KO4JY, informs OPDX
that he will be active on Saba from August 13-18th on both CW and
SSB 20, 15 and 10 meters. He may be on 40 meters if he has room
for a dipole. He has applied for a local call but doesn't have
much confidence he will get it in time. If not, he will sign
PJ/KO4JY. His trip is mainly a dive trip, but he will try to get
an hour or two in each day in the morning and evening. Kevin will
be operating a FT-100D with either a R5, R8 or wire. He is
undecided which antenna to take. When on CW, he will spend most
of his time in the Extra band. Although he will give everyone a
chance at least one day. For SSB, he will find a frequencies
somewhere where everyone can work him.

operated as 4L/AJ3M from Tbilisi, Georgia, and made about

BV9AYA QSL INFO. Please QSL to JH3JWW
via the Bureau for QSOs only between July 20-22nd.
Wolff, DJ5JH, informs OPDX that in
OPDX.521 we stated QSL for J43J should go via his CBA.
That's not necessary. He tells OPDX his J43J QSLs, as
well as his regular callsign in Greece SV3/DJ5JH, can go
via the bureau to DJ5JH (he states,"No need to use
the CBA and the expensive mail). Wolff says. "QSL
via bureau is one of the strict principles of the SDXG
-South German DX Group (see http://www.sdxg.net).
OX/SP8UFO QSLs for this June/July 2001

TK, CORSICA. Paul, F2YT, will be going
to Corsica (EU-014, DIFM TK001) and Sanguinaire Islands
(EU-104) between August 18th and September 2nd. He
expects to use the special callsign TK8T. Suggested
frequencies are: 7099 and 14256 SSB, and the IOTA

then dial four quick ones ("1111"). (NOTE: Some FAX
machines that send single "BEEPS" every second will not
have to do this step.) 3) The phone will pick up and after the
"BEEP" leave your voice message or FAX.
