details will follow. Charles, K4VUD, who is organizing a
trip to Bhutan which we reported a few weeks ago now has
all of the full details available on a Web page at: http://www.unchainedheart.org/dxradio.htm.
CLIPPERTON 2000 - THE STORY (by Mike Goode,

Tiree is some 10 miles long and 3 miles wide, and is
skirted by the Hebridean Sea to the South and East with
the Atlantic Ocean to the North and West. The island has
no trees, as they cannot root against the severe winter
gales, but it is famed for its spring and summer sunshine
records. Birds, flora and fauna not seen on the mainland
can also be found on the island. A flat crofting land,
Tiree has only three hills above 300 ft, with a coastline
edged with long, windswept, shell sand beaches. For
updates, check out the club's Web page at: http://www.btinternet.com/~john.innes/cpsarc/iota.htm.

Tor/LA7FJA and Jens/LA8LGA will be active May 19-25th as JW5LJA,
JW7FJA and JW8LGA, respectively. Activity will be on all bands CW
and SSB. QSL via home callsigns.
KH5 & KH5K, KINGMAN REEF AND PALMYRA ATOLL.
The Kingman-Palmyra DX Group will activate two rare Pacific
entities --- Kingman Reef (KH5K) and Palmyra Atoll (KH5) this
year. Both counters sit high on the current "Most-Wanted
Lists", with Kingman currently #3 in Europe. However, due to
a special situation, their activation will occur in several
phases over the summer and fall. About 1000 miles south of
Hawaii, Palmyra Atoll is privately owned, and is currently in the
process of being sold. The sale offers both challenges and
opportunities for the DXpedition team. Their operations will be
coordinated with all parties to the transaction, and they expect
to benefit from temporarily enhanced access to the area.
Accordingly, they plan several moderate-scale operations at
Palmyra over the next several months by elements of their team,
on a flexible schedule. Equipment is already on its way in
preparation for these operations. The culmination of the plan
will be a full-scale, 10-band activation of Kingman Reef in
October, 2000.
THE NORTHERN OHIO DX ASSOCIATION (along with
WVNO Radio) will sponsor its 4th annual Hospitality Suite at this
year's Dayton Hamvention. It will be in Suite 1011 on the 10th
Club Floor of the Crowne Plaza Hotel (old Stouffers) on Friday
and Saturday evenings. All DXers/Contesters are welcome. Munchies
and refreshments will be avaialble. Come and meet the members and
friends of NODXA.
OPPSSS DEPARTMENT. In OPDX.459 (last week's
bulletin), under "KH0, NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS", we
mentioned Ban's callsign was JF2WSX. This is wrong. It should be
JF2WXS.
OY, FAROE ISLANDs. Frank/DL2SWW, Ric/DL2VFR
and YL operator Gabi/DG2TM will be active from Faroe Islands
(EU-018) between May 29th and June 8th. They plan to operate on
160-2 meters mostly on CW with some SSB and RTTY. For further
