Ed, SP1MHV, informs OPDX that "each member" of the of
Polish Amateur Radio Society (PZK) can use the special 3Z prefix
to celebrate the 70 years of PZK and the Millenium Year 2000.
Each member can use the 3Z prefix plus their call area and own

SP8MI will use 3Z8MI, etc.). Ed, SP1MHV, states that he will use
his special contest callsign "3Z1V" for the whole year
2000. Look for 3Z1MHV and 3Z1V to be active on the digital modes
(RTTY,PSK and SSTV), and 3Z1V during the major contest on CW/SSB
(if he has free time of course). QSLs for Ed are ok via the
normal callsign - SP1MHV (the bureau or CBA).

once again. Two weeks ago Fritz, DL4TT, was active and this past
weekend Masa Miura, AJ3M, was active from the United Nations in

that the conditions will be good. QSL via VE3ICR or VA3DX, both

FT/T, TROMELIN. "QRZ DX" reports
that the Lyon DX Gang will be active from here sometime in the
summer of 2000. No exact dates are known yet, but it looks like
the operation will take place in probably July or August. There
will be four operators active for two weeks. The group orginally
wanted to go to Glorioso but ran into some administrative
problems. The trip to Tromelin will be more expensive, so the
group is looking for funds/sponsors. For up-to-date information,

operation will be minor and on request. They will each use their

QSL INFO AND NEWS...
Merv, K9FD, QSL Manager for BY1QH,
reports the following to OPDX: "I just mailed over
10 pounds of QSLs to the bureau. And just received
another package from the bureau of several hundred cards.
Some of these cards are dated from 1991, not sure if they
are old cards stuck in the bureau or just finally being
sent, all will be answered in the next few weeks via
bureau.. I send cards out to the bureau 2 times a year so
be patient.. All direct cards are up to date..and replies
are within one week.. There is a new "chief
operator" in charge at BY1QH so not sure how much
longer will be able to manage their cards. Thanks 73 Merv
K9FD"

was the first callsign he ever received from Benin
(remember TYA11 many years ago!).

Frederick, AA4NG, has been receiving
QSLs for a recent VP4W operation which he is NOT the QSL
Manager for. However, he is the QSL Manager for a VP4W
operation that took place in 1991.
The QSL route for the millenium
operation of G4FRE/2K and the ARRL RTTY Contest operation
of M2I (Mike 2 Italy) are both via WW2R only.
VP6, PITCAIRN ISLAND. Remember that Jukka,
OH2BR, will leave for Pitcairn Island (OC-044) January 19th for
three months. He is scheduled to return in early May. He will
operate on CW/SSB/RTTY on 160-6 meters signing VP6BR from Tom's,
VP6TC, QTH and/or from the club station VP6PAC on the top of a
hill. Jukka plans to also make a few IOTA stops/operations to
Henderson Island (OC-056) and Ducie Island (OC-182) (if it can be
possible and reasonably done). QSLs via OH2BR, Jukka Heikinheimo,
Box 37, SF-01361 Vantaa, Finland. Cards will be answered after
his return. For further information check the Web page at: http://www.qsl.net/oh2br.
XZ0A DXPEDITION TO MYANMAR. This major
DXpedition is now very active on all bands. OPDX InterNet
Subscribers will receive the press release as additional
bulletins. Activity is scheduled to last until February 6th. Just
a couple of points to note. There are no plans to have on-line
checking for the XZ0A operation. The QSL Manager W1XT has no
logs, so please don't ask him to verify your QSO. AS PER A PRESS
RELEASE by Dick, N6FF, "If you have any doubt of a good QSO,
please work them again to be certain. The operators will not get
upset with a dupe QSO." Bob, W1XT, has posted a Web page
about the QSLing for XZ0A. It is located at: http://www.superphoenix.com/xz0a-qsl.htm.
It gives the current QSL address and details of the XZ0A
operation as it applies to QSLs. Additional details can be found
on the DXpedition web site at: http://www.getnet.com/~k7wx/myanmar.htm.
ZK2, NIUE. Willian/W7TVF and Al/K7CA are
planning an DXpedition here this coming Februrary. Al reports
that tickets are purchased, and they should be there sometime
February 7th. They will try to get set up to operate 160 meters
at their sunset, about 0600z. Al states that 160m will be their
priority, but they will also spend time on 80 and 40 meters plus
6 meters and other bands as time permits. Look for them everyday
on the topband at 0600z until their sunrise at about 1700z.
Antennas are a homebrew (by N7JW) top loaded vertical with lots
of radials and beverages for RX. They will probably use a
frequency above 1830 on topband and mostly CW on all bands but
will let everyone know when they arrive. They will leave for home
on February 20th. So they hope for a little luck and some decent
band conditions. They want to put a lot of stations in the log,
especially on the low bands and 6m too.
