QSL INFO AND NEWS....
QSL Manager Fritz, DL7VROI, who has just returned from
his EA8 operation, reports that the QSL cards for the
8Q7IO and 8Q7IQ operation (October 19th-November 5th)
should be received within the next week from the
printers'. He does mention to us that he is the QSL
Manager for the EA8 activity by him (DL7VRO) and only the
following DL stations: DL1YFF, DL7AU, DL7IO, DL7UBA and
DL7VRO.
It has been reported to OPDX that QSLs for Gyuri, HA5JI,
no longer go to Bob, W9XY. Bob used to be the QSL Manager
because Gyuri was strapped for time, but Gyuri is home
more now so he asks that all QSLs be sent direct to
HA5JI.
Bernie, W3UR (editor of "THE DAILY DX") reports
that the A61AJ logs are now available on the InterNet at:
http://www.dailydx.com/a61aj_search.html
Bernie has printed the labels for all QSL card requests
received before December 29th. He is in the process of
attaching labels to the color photo QSL cards and will
have all U.S. cards in the mail before the January 10th
postal increase. Most of the U.S. cards will go in the
mail Monday morning. He adds that the foreign mail will
follow very quickly afterwards and Bureau cards are OK
(However, he will only answer them in bulk once a year
and that will be sometime in the summer). Also, A61AJ
does have a Web page, which has some older pictures at: http://www.a61aj.com
For those who may be interested, Boris, T93Y, has posted
pictures of the recent A61AJ CQWW CW DX Contest on his
home page at: http://www.qsl.net/t93y/a61aj/
The "Checkered Turtle" QSL cards for the
October, 1998 J3A CQWW SSB Contest are now being sent

WA8LOW.

earlier QSOs also. Please, QSL to VK4AAR DIRECT.
NEED A QSL MANAGER? Alan, VK4AAR, states he will be happy
to take on the job. If you have an E-mail address, Alan
can turn cards around very fast but the old fashioned
method of mailing the log is OK too. If interested,
contact Alan by E-mail or postal as per the following
addresses: VK4AAR's E-mail - almee@halenet.com.au
New Postal Address - Alan Roocroft, PO Box 421, Gatton
4343, Australia
Scott, VE7ARS, QSL Manager for the XM7P (RCMP 125 Ann
Station) that was on Trutch Island (IOTA NA-181), states
all the QSLs for this event have been sent out. Some
cards went out blank to stations which was an error. Some
operators were wondering what to do. Scot states that
they have fixed the problem, and that they will re-issue
all those blank cards. THERE is NO NEED FOR STATIONS TO
SEND ANOTHER QSL OR MORE POSTAGE. Any station that QSLed
direct will receive a card direct with the QSL info on
it. Scot regrets the mix-up, but this stuff happens from
time to time. Any station wishing to confirm QSL status
for XM7P can send an E-mail messsage to: ve7ars@sfu.ve7cc.ampr.org
Bob Chambers, NC6J, reports that after ten years of
handling the QSL Manager job for KC4AAA, he has decided
to turn the job over to Larry, K1IED. Bob states Larry is
more than capable and is in touch with the people at the
South Pole on a daily basis. He will handle all prior and
future QSL cards.
Jacky, F5OIU, has been informed that he is no longer the
QSL Manager for MU0ASP or MJ0ASP. At this date Jacky has
received only a few pages of the logs and no QSLs.
Effective as of the 1st of January, please QSL via the
operator F5SHQ.
