DXERS LOSE A MAJOR INTERNET TOOL!
Dxers of the InterNet will lose one of the major mailing lists
(run by Lyndon, VE7TCP) known as the "DX Reflector".
This mailing list was widely used by many, and it was one of the
first stepping stones to start other ham related mailing lists.
Lyndon provided this helpful service over the last several years,
and his hard work in moderating the list and keeping the mailing
list focused mainly on DX turned out to be a major commitment and
battle, only to be spoiled by a few individuals. Lyndon's
services will be dearly missed, and I (KB8NW) would like to thank
him personally for the enjoyment and help he has provided to the
DXers of the world.
1A0, SOV. MIL. ORDER OF MALTA.
Operators IK0FVC, I0JBL, I0CUT, IK0PRG, IK0MBB, I0HCJ and IK0HBN
are now active as 1A0KM until August 3rd. Their planned
activities are to be on 160-2 meters. QSL via IK0FVC.

held by the Iraqi regime. They will start operation on August 1st
at 1200z and it will end 48 hours later on August 3rd at 1200z.
There will be a special QSL card for this event. QSLs will be
"OK" only via the Bureau. Please note that this is the
first time 9K7 prefix will be on the air, and maybe it will be
the last!! If you are a prefix hunter, it is your chance to work
a new one!!

meters but emphasis will be put on the WARC bands. He will work
with 100 watts and vertical antenna. QSL via I4ALU either via

to look for Albert, FO5JR, from the Island of Rimatara. He will
be there until August 13th. Activity will be mainly CW on 20 and

allowed to use "50" instead of their call area number
to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Korean government after
World War II. Korean government began on August 15, 1948, after
Japanese rule for 35 years. All HL stations can use HL50. For
example, HL1SSG can use HL50SSG, HL5CL can use HL50CL. Also, look
for some Korean stations to use the "50" prefix signing
a "/call_area". For example, DS1ABC can use DS50ABC/1,
DS4DEF can use DS50DEF/4. The Korean radio amatuers are allowed
to use "50" prefix during August 1-31st.

the queries, initially concentrating on Japan and the
USA, as they represent the greatest numbers of queries.

take several weeks (if not months) to work through and
clear."
