THE 59(9) DXReport, N3AF, WB3LHD, WA4JQS, AC7DX, EA5RD, G3XTT,
G4BUE & DX News Sheet, GJ4ICD, PA3ERC and VE2CND for the
following DX information.
9M0, SPRATLY ISLANDS. (The
complete news release will be sent to all OPDX InterNet
Subscribers as an additional bulletin!) With the activity of two
groups being active from here this month, a third group has
announced that they will also be active from here. A
multi-national group of DXpeditioners, primarily members of the
UK's CDXC (Chiltern DX Club), the UK DX Foundation, will operate
from Layang Layang Island in the Spratlys in February, 1998.
Exact dates will be announced later, but the intention is to
operate soon after the island re-opens to visitors following the
typhoon season in order to maximize the opportunities for good LF
propagation. It is also hoped that sunspot numbers will by then
have started to increase, and that the expedition will enjoy
favorable HF propagation. The team is expected to include: G3NUG,
G3OZF, G3WGV, G3XTT, G4JVG, G0OPB, K5VT, VK2BEX, 9M2OM/G3NOM and
9M6SU. It is planned to keep four stations on the air round the
clock to maximize band openings. All HF bands will be activated
on SSB, CW and RTTY. The group will also have equipment for 6
meters. The team will use a wide selection of monoband and
multiband antennas including phased verticals for both 40 and 80
meters. The callsign 9M0C has been provisionally allocated. A Web
page is available at http://members.aol.com/spratly98 with
up-to-the-minute expedition news. G3SWH will be QSL manager, and
QSLs will be available through the bureau or direct.
AP, PAKISTAN. Hiro, JA1EZM, is
reportedly here until August 19th. He has applied for his own
callsign AP2AP. Another JA operator, possibly JA8WPP, may be with
him. Most of the activity will be on 160, 80/75, 40 and 30
meters, but if conditions are good, look for them on 20, 17, 15
and 12 meters. Main frequencies also mentioned are 10105 kHz and
7005 kHz. QSL to JA1EZM: Hiro Tabuchi, 242 Kumagawa, Fussa City
197, Tokyo, Japan. Meanwhile, AP2JZD has been active on the 14226

through September 11th, they will be active from Pigeon Point on
Tobago (9Y4) as 9Y4/PA3BBP, 9Y4/PA3ERC and 9Y4/PA3EWP. They will
have 2 stations on the air with activity on 160-10 meters with
operations on CW, SSB and RTTY. They will also try to work some
Satellite RS-12. Their focus will be mainly on the WARC bands and
the low bands for Europe during their grayline. Both locations
will have an excellent take off to the US and Europe. A special
InterNet Web Page will be setup at the URL: http://www.igr.nl/users/pa3dmh/tour1997.html
This page will contain daily uploaded logs and digital images of
the expedition. Special wishes can be sent to Alex, PA3DMH, the
Webmaster of this page. They like to make as much contacts as
possible, however, THEY DO NOT ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO WORK THEM
DOUBLE! QSLs for all the above callsigns go to PA3ERC, via the
bureau or direct to: Rob Snieder, Van Leeuwenstraat 137, 2273 VS,
Voorburg, The Netherlands

QSL INFO AND NEWS...
Ron, WB3LHD, states he has been waiting for a QSL from
PY2AEI since Novemeber, 1995. After 3 requests, Ron
received a reply from PY2AEI's wife saying that Julio had
passed away in 1989. It would appear that the November
1995 operation was a PIRATE.
Les, WF5E, received a letter recently from Abubaker
Alzway, the operator at 5A1A, stating that the 5A1A is
the only station in Libya working SSB since July, 1995.
Any other operation is a pirate operation and they have
no permission to operate. Abubaker has returned some 5A0A
QSLs as they are no good. He also states any operation
from Joe from the Czech Embassy in Tripoli is no good
because he has no permission to operate as of this date.
He also mentions that he has returned some QSLs from his
5A27 operation where he was the op in September, 1996
(this was in celebration for their 27th Anniversary of
the Alfath September Revolution). Les states he is not
the QSL Manager for 5A1A, although he might be able to
obtain your QSL if you worked Abubaker as 5A1A. Les's
E-mail address is: wf5e@startwo.apex2000.net
7Q7EH QSLS. The W1 QSL Bureau is receiving quite a number
of cards for 7Q7EH via W1EH. The W1 Bureau states they
cannnot contact W1EH and he does not subscribe to their
bureau. The GO List shows AA9HD as QSL Manager, and their
sorter has attempted to contact AA9HD, but has failed to
elicit any reply. The W1 Bureau cannot handle cards for
7Q7EH. Some list somewhere is in error. To those who sent
via W1EH; resend trying AA9HD.
Ron, AC7DX, informs OPDX that he is now the new QSL
Manager for contest station ZZ2Z (Cesar py2yp). QSL to:
Ron Lago AC7DX, POB 25426, Eugene, Oregon 97402.
T32Z QSLS. Ron, N3AF, informs OPDX that after sending
several SASEs, he made a phone call to Janice, N7YL, QSL
Manager for T32Z. Janice told Ron she has not received
any logs from T32Z in over a year. She told Ron that as
soon as she gets some logs she can begin to respond to
everyone's QSL requests.
S2, BANGLADESH. The "DX
News Sheet" states that Jim, VK9NS, may be active
October/November as S21ZA.
