CROATIA, 9A. Look for special Millennium
station 9AY2K to be active from January 1 until December 31,
2000. QSL via 9A1A.
CHINA, BY. A group of Chinese amateurs are
operating special Millennium station BT2000 until January 2.
Activity will be on CW, SSB, RTTY, SSTV and PSK31 from Qushan
Island, IOTA AS-137. QSL via BA4EG.
MOLDOVA, ER. Lysy, ER1LW, is active as
ER2000L until January 20. QSL to his regular call. Meanwhile,
ER2000D, is QRV on 80 to 10 meters using SSB. QSL via UT7ND.
GUADELOUPE, FG. Look for TO2000 to be QRV
until January 3. QSL via ON4LCE.
ENGLAND, G. Look for M2000A to be QRV from
the Greenwich Meridian. QSL via G4DFI.
ITALY, I. Special event station IR0MFP, the
suffix short for Millennium For Peace, will be active until
January 2. QSL via
IK0AZG.
PAPUA NEW GUINEA, P2. Look for P2000K to be
QRV until January 31. QSL via P29PB.
BRAZIL, PY. Ari, PT2BW, is QRV as special
event station ZW2OOO until January 3, 2000. Look for him using
CW, SSB, RTTY, SSTV, PSK31 and Feld-Hell modes. QSL to his
regular call.
AUSTRALIA, VK. The New South Wales Division
of the Wireless Institute of Australia will be running special
event station VK2OOO from January 1 until December 31 to
celebrate the Olympic Games held in Sydney.
ROMANIA, YO. The Romanian Amateur Radio
Federation will activate special Millennium station YR2OOO until
January 2. QSL via bureau.
NEW ZEALAND, ZL. Ed, K8VIR will be active
January 1 as ZM4IR from a mountain top location to celebrate the
New Year. QSL this operation via W8WC. Meanwhile, the Hastings
Branch Radio Club of the New Zealand Association of Radio
Transmitters will be active as ZMY2K. QSL via bureau.
THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO. The ARRL Straight
Key Night, 14th Internet CW Sprint, PSK31 Millennium Contest,
SARTG New Year RTTY Contest and the Y2K QRP Contest will
certainly keep operators busy as we enter into the New Year.
