425 DX News Magazine - The new monthly

3W - Steve, WB2KHO plans to operate (on 10,
15, 20 and possibly 40 metres SSB) from Vietnam on 5-16 November.
His possible callsign will be 3W2SF. QSL via WB2KHO. [TNX The

9M6 - JA1BRK, JA1HGY, JA1RJU, JK1OPL, JA2ADH
and JA8GQZ are going to be active (on 10-160 and 6 metres, SSB,CW
and RTTY, with an emphasis on RTTY and 6 metres) from East
Malaysia. Look for 9M6/JA1HGY (QSL via JA1HGY), 9M6/JK1OPL (QSL
via JK1OPL), 9M6/JA8GQZ (QSL via JA8GQZ), 9M6TDC guest operated
by JA1BRK (QSL via JA1BRK) and 9M6LSC guest operated by JA2ADH
(QSL via JA2ADH) on 8-11 November, while JA1RJU will be signing

HK0 - Gerd, DL7VOG will operate (mainly CW
and RTTY) from San Andres Island (NA-033) on 8-29 November. [TNX

HL - Special call DT2001PAF will be used
until 4 November by KARL Pyong Taek branch operators to celebrate

I - Tony, IK8VRH will be active as IB0/IK8VRH
in his free time from the islands of Ventotene (EU-045, IIA
LT-011) and Ponza (EU-045, IIA LT-001) between 1 November and 15

I - Look for IK7JWX/p, IZ7AUH/p and IZ7CRW/p
to be active from the lighthouse at Capo San Vito (WAIL PU-011,

KH2 - Hiro, JA5XAE will be active as
KH2/JA5XAE from Guam on 3-4 November. Look for him on 7007,
10107, 14007, 18077, 21007, 24907, 28007 and 50117 kHz CW; 7077,
14177, 18137, 21277, 24937, 28477 and 50117 kHz SSB. QSL via

ON - Belgian amateurs are allowed to replace
their ON or OT prefixes with OQ until 31 December. This special
prefix was issued on 26 October to honour the birth of princess

OZ - Jakob, OZ7AEI has cancelled his 2
November operation from Als Islan [425DXN 547] due to business
commitments. [TNX OZ7AEI]
R1_ant - Alex, RA1PC [425DXN 547] is working
for the AARI (Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute) and will
be QRV as R1ANC from the Russian Antarctic Base
"Vostok" (IOTA AN-016, WABA UA-010) from early November
until late January 2002. He will then be replaced by Alan,
UA1PAC, who will stay there and operate as R1ANC until January

T2 - "Tuvalu Team" (JH7OHF, JJ1LIB,
JN1HOW, JQ1KNH) [425DXN 546] has been delayed and now plans are
to operate as T2T (HF) and T2SIX (6m) on 3-11 November. [TNX The

TJ - Eduardo, EA2TV and Javier, EA2COL will
be in Cameroon between 11 and 23 November, working on the
installation of some VHF and HF stations in hospitals and
missions in a project from "Radioaficionados Sin
Fronteras". During their spare time they plan to operate
(mainly SSB with possibly some RTTY and CW) as TJ2RSF. QSL via

VE - Linda, VE9GLF and Len, VE9MY plan to be
active (on 15, 20 and 40 metres) from Graves Island (not IOTA,
CISA NS-041) after 20.30 UTC on 5 November. QSL via home calls

W - Look for Silvano, KB5GL/5 to be active
(on 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10 metres SSB) from Grand Isle (NA-168) on

XE - XE1VIC, XE1ME, XE1JG, XE1YJY, XE1ZOI and
XE1KK are the operators currently signing XF2RCS from from Isla
de Lobos in the Veracruz State North group (NA-221) until 4
November. QSL via KA9WON (Lonnie Miller, 12618 Thistle Ridge
Close, Roscoe, IL 61073, USA) or, for Mexican stations only, via

DXCC NEWS ---> ARRL DXCC Manager Bill
Moore, NC1L reports that OJ0VR (Market Reef) and
HK5QGX/0M (Malpelo Island) have been approved for DXCC
credit. The documentation has been reviewed and they are
now OK. Anyone who has submitted them and had them
rejected, can contact DXCC to have their record updated
without having to re-submit the card(s). Otherwise, they
can be included with the next submission.
EU-182 ---> UX0FF/P, UX3FW/P,
UR5FEO/P, UR5FJF/P and UT4FA/P made around 2500 QSOs from
Ochakovskiy Island (EU-182) on 19-21 October. QSL via

PACIFIC TRIP ---> Tommy, VK2IR
reports he has changed his plans and will not be active
from Midway Island any longer [425DXN 545]. He now
expects to operate from Tonga (A3) and Niue (ZK2) between
22 November and 3 December.
QSL TM9R ---> Jean-Pierre, F9RM
reports he was the QSL manager for TM9R only for the
contest activities back in 1992.
QSL VY0/W2NTJ ---> Cezar, VE3LYC is
now able to confirm [425DXN 539] that he is the QSL
manager for Jack, VY0/W2NTJ for his last operation from
Long Island (NA-173). Cezar has the paper log covering
the period 13 August-15 October 2001; Jack will send the
ramaining part of his NA-173 log after he is back home.
The QSL cards will be printed shortly. QSL direct only to

Canada. "Please, no requests at this time for
previous operations carried out by Jack", Cezar
says.

"I will not accept any mail that does not have a
return address on the envelope. Today (31 October) there
were 12 envelopes, both domestic and foreign, that did
not have return addresses on."
