A2 - Last week's 425DXN was put together in a
great hurry due to overwhelming business priorities - and Murphy
took immediate advantage: A22EW is active until 25 February from
Botswana (obvioulsly), not from Bahrain (!). Many thanks to

our readers.
C6 - Look for AC8W/C6A and K8DD/C6A to be
active from Treasure Cay, Abaco Island (NA-080), Bahamas on 15-25
February, including a multi-operator entry in the ARRL

in the ARRL International DX Contests (CW, 19-20 February and

expected to leave France on 18 February and to be active as

FO0_cl - The Clipperton 2000 team now
includes HB9AHL, JK7TKE, K4UEE, N7CQQ (team leader), N9NS, N9TK,

Doug/N6TQS and Eddie/EA3NY. Operations are expected to start on 1

starting on or around 22 May. They will participate in the CQ WW

PJ8 - Ron/ND5S, Sue/KF5LG. Bill/W8EB and
Dorothy/W8DVC will be signing PJ8/home call from Sint Maarten
(NA-105) between 19 February and 12 March. Look for them on CW,

S2 - Andy, G4ZVJ reports he will be in Dhaka,
Bangladesh between 12 and 21 February and plans to be QRV on CW

V4 - Joe/VE3BW (V47CA), Julio/WD4JR,
Bruce/W4OV and possibly one or two more operators will be active
(on all bands CW and SSB) from St. Kitts (NA-104) on 14-24
February. They will participate in the ARRL DX CW Contest (Multi

W - Special Event station K4L will be active
between 13 and 21 UTC on 12 February to commemorate the
anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln. The operation will
be conducted from the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National

ZL - Bob, W7TSQ will be travelling to New
Zealand on 16 February. He plans to operate as either ZL/W7TSQ or
with a ZL callsign to be assigned upon arrival (possibly ZL2SQ)
until 1 March. He will participate in the ARRL International DX

anniversary of the French amateurs' national society

NEW DXCC CARD CHECKING PROGRAM --->
The current DXCC Field Checking program will end on March
31, 2000, with the new program beginning on April 1,
2000. Under the new program, DXCC Card Checkers will be
able to check all awards except 160 meter DXCC, and all
QSLs from any current DXCC Entity. This will apply to
both new awards and endorsements. QSOs made up to ten
years prior to the current year will be eligible for
checking in the field, while older cards and Deleted
Entities may still be sent to ARRL HQ. For further

QSL 4K1A ---> The QSL manager is W3HC
but only for contacts made between November 1982 and
April 1984 and only for countries outside Russia. [TNX

QSL 9G5ZW ---> QSL Manager Miro,
OM3LZ reports Zdeno, 9G5ZW has logged some 22,000 QSOs on
all bands so far. Direct QSLling started on 10 January,
the first bureau requests will be answered in March.
QSL FH & S79 ---> Roger, G3SXW
and Nigel, G3TXF made a total of 26,200 CW QSOs during
their recent visit to Mayotte (21,740 QSOs) and the
Seychelles (4,460 QSOs). QSL FH/G3TXF and S79TXF via
G3TXF, QSL FH/G3SXW and S79SXW via G3SXW either direct
(see addresses below) or through the RSGB bureau.

Alan Roocroft, VK4AAR reports that Frank, YJ8AA has moved
to Australia for medical reasons; he is now an Australian
citizen but retains his YJ8AA call. Frank has QSL cards
and logs from 1996 (possibly older) and will be able to
take care of some old QSL requests himself. QSL direct

TROMELIN 2000 ---> Gil, F5NOD (f5nod@easynet.fr)
confirms the Lyon DX Gang will activate Tromelin Island
(AF-031) this summer [425DXN 453] - exact dates not known
for the time being, but it should be during August. It is
planned to be a 2-week all-band all-mode activity, with
four operators and three stations. "The DXpedition
is very expensive", Gil says, "and it will take
place if we can gather enough money". Donations can
