9A - Look for 9A4DU, 9A4NC, 9A5ANY and 9A6DX
to be signing home call/p from the islands of Korcula (EU-016,
IOCA CI-041) and Proizd (EU-016, IOCA CI-093) between 21 and 23
January. QSL via home calls or to Box 300, 20000 Dubrovnik,

CE - XQ5BIB and CE5VKI are active (operations
announced to take place on on 40, 20, 15 and 10 metres SSB and
CW) from Wellington Island (SA-032) until 27 January. [TNX horizonte@cordoba.com.ar]
CE - Bob, K4MZU reports that CE9/R3CA was
expected to go QRT from Patriot Hills on 14 January. The 24-hour
operation from SA-050 [425DXN 453] might take place on or about
16-18 January.
FO0_cl - The Clipperton 2000 [425DXN 433]
team (including G0LMX, HB9AHL, JK7TKE, K3VN, K4UEE, KK6EK, N6MZ,
N7CQQ, N9NS, N9TK, ON4WW, VE5RA and 9V1YC) is scheduled to depart
San Diego, California on 23 February. They expect to be ready to
operate on 1 March with four HF stations, one 6 Meter station and
one satellite station. Planned operating frequencies are: 50115,
28475, 24945, 21295, 18145, 14195, 7065 and 3795 kHz SSB; 50115,
28025, 24895, 21025, 18145, 14025, 10106, 7005, 3505 and 1827 kHz
CW; 21080 and 14080 kHz RTTY. The pilot stations will be Jay,
W2IJ (pcb4u@earthlink.net)
and a European pilot TBA. The DXpedition will shut down late on 8
March and depart Clipperton on the 9th. QSL via N7CQQ either

JW - LA9FJA will be active as JW9FJA from
Svalbard for the next eight months. [TNX F6AJA and Les Nouvelles

KH0 - Kazu, JA1RJU/KH2K will be active as
KH2K/AH0 from Saipan, Northern Mariana (OC-086) between 22 (local
evening) and 26 (local morning) January. He will put and emphasis
on 160 metres (1823.5 kHz, up 10 kHz) for both Europe and North

PY - Delson, PY4AUN is active until 30 April
as ZV4D to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the discovery of
Brazil. [TNX PY4FQ]
R1_ant - Operator Vladimir is now active as
R1ANJ (QSL via RU1ZC) from Russian Antarctic station
"Druzhnaya-4" while operator Sergej is active as R1ANA
(QSL via RU1ZC) from "Molodezhnaya" base. The both of
them are expected to be QRV until March. [TNX DL5EBE]
SP - Ed, SP1MHV reports he will operate as
3Z1V during this year's RTTY, PSK and SSTV contests. QSL via
SP1MHV. He also reports that through 31 December amateurs from
Poland can replace their prefix with 3Z to celebrate the 70th
anniversary of the Polish national society.
VK - Josep, EA6ACC will be active from
Australia as VK4FOC between 20 January and 15 March. Plans are to
operate portable in VK2, VK3, VK5 and VK8. [TNX The Daily DX]
VK0_mac - VK0MM was pirated on 20 metres RTTY
on 11 January. The genuine Alan, VK0MM says that "there is
no VK0MM RTTY operation at present, any RTTY activity that is
reported is not coming from Macquarie Island". If Alan
decides to operate on RTTY, it will be announced several days

Look for Alan on 16 January at 3-4 UTC (21003/008 CW, Latin
America & Caribbean) and 9-11 UTC (14025/030 CW, USA/VE/XE

XZ - The pilot stations for the current XZ0A
operation from Thahtay Kyun Island (AS-144), Myanmar are Dick
Wolf, N6FF (n6ff@tco.net) and
Richard Briggs, WA7MTF/8 (wa7mtf@intrepid.net).
All observations are welcome, special insights into regional
propagation is the most helpful type of information. Ongoing

ZK1_nc - QSL manager I2YSB (Silvano Borsa,
Viale Capettini 1, 27036 Mortara - PV, Italy; http://digilander.iol.it/i2ysb)
reports that due to local power restrictions Adriano,
IK2GNW/ZK1GNW [425DXN 451] will be able to operate between
16.30-22.30 UTC and 04.30-08.30 UTC only. Look for ZK1GNW to be
active from the North Cooks starting on 13 January for one week
on SSB (50115, 28475, 24945, 21295, 18145, 14195, 7065, 3795,
1845) QRS CW (50115, 28030, 24905, 21030, 18080, 14030, 10120,
7020, 3530, 1830) and RTTY (21080, 14080).

QSL 3V8BB & 3V8ST ---> The Daily
DX reports that the Association Tunisienne des
Radioamateurs (ASTRA) has appointed Mustapha, DL1BDF as
the official QSL manager for both 3V8BB and the new scout
station 3V8ST. Mustapha is expected to go soon to Tunisia
to help set up a QSL bureau.
QSL 5R8FA ---> I1PIN has been
receiving several cards, particularly from the US, but he
is not the QSL manager for this station. Please note that
the QSL route for 5R8FA and 5R8FA/p (AF-057) operations
back in 1995 is via JE8BKW.
QSL 7Q7DC ---> As from 1 January 2000
the only QSL route for Don, 7Q7DC is via G0IAS (Allan
Hickman, The Conifers, High Street, Elkesley, Retford,
DN22 8AJ Notts, UK). Don's old manager is now Silent Key
and all logs will be available to G0IAS. [TNX G0IAS]
QSL D2BF ---> The QSL route is via
EA8EE either direct (Apartado de Correos 2241, 35080 Las
Palmas, Spain) or through the bureau. Cards sent via home
call EA1BF (Apartado de Correos 2140, 15080 La Coruna,
Spain) will be answered, but it will take time, as Jesus
goes back to Spain every 3-4 months. [TNX D2BF]
QSL KL1SLE ---> "If you do not
have a KL1SLE card for NA-040, or actually any operation
yet, pse do NOT resend", Chris, KL9A (ex-WL7KY)
says. "There have been some problems getting the
cards to the manager, but the QSLs SHOULD make it to him
